Patient did have menu in hand at lunch and was able to inform staff of dietary restrictions for dinner. Patient is suffering from lack of food hence cannot gain energy to build strength. Day one facility fails to have the proper gauze bandages in stock to dress the wound. Day 2 facility fails to have headache medicine on hand requiring family to drive home round trip in late evening for delivery of said item. (Don't they have if not a pharmacy at least the chart to indicate meds generally taken PRN?) Day 3 above. Rehab staff does not coordinate with wound care staff hence double book patient for care causing patient to have to miss one of the prescribed events.
We kept my grandmother at that home for so long because we liked the service she received but no nursing home is completely without its issues. I came to the nursing home unexpectedly once during daytime hours and my grandmother lay in her bed with a bowl of spaghetti all over the place. The rest of the time was spent alone in his room. The staff was generally very nice though given the covid restrictions.Also I had some shady cell phone drug store they work with call me looking to pad the bill with unnecessary drugs and vitamins to take home. I guess they figured I wouldn't care because medicare was paying for most of it but I did care and refused them all. I just didn't trust them and it made me question everything about the care here.
